“Can I record myself directly on Google Slides? I want to add a video on Google Slides but can’t find the recording option. Is it possible to record myself talking on Google Slides?”
If you are going to add a video to Google Slides, you can’t record yourself directly within Google Slides. That’s because there is no built-in recording option available when inserting a video into your Google Slides presentation. Instead, you would need to use screen recording software, such as SurFlex Screen Recorder, to record a video and then upload the recorded video to Google Drive. Afterward, you can insert the video from Google Drive into your Google Slides presentation. Alternatively, you can add a video from YouTube to your slides.
If you are going to capture yourself talking over Google Slides, then you can use the built-in presentation recording feature to get it done. The Record button is available for certain Google Workspace editions (paid) and you can access the option from the top right corner of your screen. If you see the record button, you can record a video presenting Google Slides easily:
- Go to Google Slides and click REC > Record New Video.
- Click the Settings icon to set up your camera and microphone.
- Adjust the layout according to your preferences.
- Click the red Start Recording button.
- In the prompt, choose Allow.
- When you are done, click the Stop button.
- Click Save to Drive.
- Go to My Drive > Slides Recordings to check the video.
